Terms of Use
1. About these Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the Cura mobile app and the Cura website at www.mycura-app.com, operated by CURA VENTURES GROUP LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17220795, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX.
By creating a Cura account, using the app, or otherwise using Cura, you agree to these Terms. For how we handle your personal data, please see the Cura Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Cura. Cura is not intended for children or teenagers under 18.
By creating an account, starting a survey, using Ask Cura, using scans, or purchasing a subscription, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that you have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give Cura, for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential, and for activity carried out through your account. Tell us at contact@curaventuresgroup.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. What Cura is and what it is not
Cura is a personalised information service for skin and hair. It is informational only.
Cura is:
- not a medical service
- not a medical device
- not a diagnostic tool
- not a substitute for a dermatologist, trichologist, general practitioner, pharmacist, or other qualified clinician
Using Cura does not create a doctor-patient, clinician-patient, pharmacist-patient, or professional advisory relationship.
If you have concerning symptoms, irritation, pain, swelling, infection, an allergic reaction, sudden hair loss, persistent symptoms, or any other worrying condition, seek qualified professional advice promptly.
If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact emergency services in your country immediately. Do not rely on Cura.
5. AI-generated content
Cura uses artificial intelligence to generate your profile reading, your routine, ingredient analysis, and Ask Cura responses. AI outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or not suitable for your specific circumstances. Outputs are informational and should not be relied on for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. Verify anything that matters with a qualified source.
6. Product and ingredient information
Product data is drawn from product labels, public and commercial databases, AI-driven web lookups, and your own manual entries. The data may be incomplete, outdated, or different from the latest packaging. Before you use a product, read the actual label on the bottle, tube, packaging, or the manufacturer's official page for the current ingredient list, usage instructions, and warnings.
Cura Score and other fit signals are educated suggestions based on the data available at the moment of analysis. They are not safety guarantees and they are not professional advice.
7. Product safety
Cura does not guarantee that any product is safe, suitable, effective, non-irritating, or allergen-free for you. Skin and hair reactions vary between people and over time.
Patch-test new products on a small area before regular use, and stop using a product immediately if you experience irritation, burning, swelling, breakouts, or any other adverse reaction.
8. Affiliate links and merchants
Some product links open the brand's or a retailer's website. Cura may earn a small commission when you complete a purchase through those links, at no additional cost to you. Commission does not change the price you pay and does not change which products Cura recommends.
Cura is not the seller. The merchant is the seller, and the merchant's own terms, refund rules, and consumer-protection rights govern any purchase.
9. Subscriptions, free trials, billing
Cura offers paid subscriptions ("Cura Membership"), sometimes with a free trial.
- Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store / StoreKit) on iOS and Google (Google Play Billing) on Android.
- The plan, price, billing period, and free-trial length are shown clearly on the paywall before you confirm.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period or free trial.
- Free trials convert to the paid plan automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the trial ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions or in your Google Play account.
- You can restore an earlier purchase using "Restore Purchases" inside the in-app paywall.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
- Statutory consumer rights, including any 14-day right of withdrawal where it applies, are not affected.
10. Apple-specific terms
If you downloaded Cura from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Cura, not between you and Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Cura. If Cura fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price if any; otherwise Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for product claims or for third-party intellectual property claims relating to Cura. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you upon your acceptance.
11. Google-specific terms
If you downloaded Cura from Google Play, your use of Cura and any subscription may also be subject to Google Play's terms and policies. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Google Play account. Google may handle billing, cancellations, and refunds under its own policies.
12. Acceptable use
When using Cura you agree not to:
- use Cura for any unlawful purpose
- bypass paywalls, security measures, rate limits, or API restrictions
- scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract Cura's source data in bulk
- use automated tools, bots, or scripts against Cura
- disrupt or overload our systems
- upload photos or content of another person without that person's permission
- use Cura to make medical claims or to provide regulated medical advice to others
- upload content that is unlawful, harmful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to upload
- manipulate Cura's recommendation systems with dishonest input
- resell, sublicense, or repackage Cura outputs as your own product or service
13. User content
You keep ownership of the content you submit to Cura, including your survey answers, photos, scans, Ask Cura messages, and manual product entries.
You grant Cura a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate, improve, secure, and provide the Cura service to you, and only as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we are required to retain it by law or for the legitimate operational reasons set out in the Privacy Policy.
You confirm your content does not infringe anyone else's rights and is not illegal or harmful.
14. Intellectual property
The Cura name, mark, app, website, editorial library, AI prompts, design, and visual identity belong to Cura or our licensors. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted. Redistribution, public posting, repackaging, or resale without our written permission is not.
15. Third-party services
Cura uses third-party services to run the app, including cloud hosting, AI processing, subscription handling, error reporting, payment platforms, product databases, and weather data. Your use of Cura is also subject to those third parties' terms where they apply.
16. Service availability
Cura may be unavailable from time to time because of maintenance, updates, network issues, third-party provider outages, or events outside our reasonable control. We will try to minimise disruption but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
17. Changes to Cura and these Terms
Cura is continuously improved. We may add, remove, test, or change features to improve safety, quality, performance, or user experience.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be marked with a new "Last updated" date and, where significant, notified in the app or by email. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
18. Account termination
You can stop using Cura at any time. You can delete your account inside the app at Profile → Delete account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if you misuse Cura, or if continued service would expose Cura, you, or third parties to legal or safety risk. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to address the issue first.
19. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cura is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that Cura will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
20. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data.
Cura's total aggregate liability under these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid Cura in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) £100, except where the law does not allow us to limit liability.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
21. Your responsibility for losses we suffer
If your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Cura, your unlawful content, or your infringement of another person's rights causes Cura a direct loss, you may be responsible for that loss to the extent permitted by law. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
22. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
Consumers resident in another jurisdiction may bring proceedings in their local courts, and mandatory provisions of local consumer law continue to apply.
Before formal proceedings, please contact us at contact@curaventuresgroup.com so we can try to resolve any issue informally.
